A Piece of Land That Is Always Changing
Nestled among the mountains of Andalusia, Farm Delight is home to fruit, vegetables, herbs and plants that each follow their own natural rhythm. Some crops take months to grow, while others need years to develop from a small seedling into a productive tree.
For us, this slower pace is simply part of farming.
On our farm, we observe the seasons, care for our plants and make the best possible use of the natural conditions of the land. Not everything can be planned – and that is exactly what makes working on a farm so exciting.
Farming in Harmony with Natural Cycles
Working with What Nature Gives Us
For us, sustainable farming does not begin at harvest. It starts with understanding how plants, soil, water and animals are connected.
That is why we follow the principles of permaculture in parts of our cultivation. It is not about trying to control nature completely, but about understanding existing natural cycles and incorporating them meaningfully into our farming practices.
Plant residues can become valuable organic matter again. Different plants can serve different purposes. And animals are an important part of life on a farm.
Step by step, this creates a system in which as little as possible goes to waste.
Every Season Brings Something New
Our farm is never static. What can be harvested today may look completely different just a few weeks from now. Our crops include, among others:
Avocado
The Andalusian climate provides good conditions for growing avocados. The trees need time and careful attention before producing a plentiful harvest.
Mango
Mangos are one of the special fruits grown on our farm. As the fruit slowly ripens, not only does its colour change – its flavour becomes more intense too.
Pitahaya
The exotic pitahaya is another speciality of our farm. Its striking fruit is a real eye-catcher – and, of course, an exciting ingredient as well.
Vegetables
Depending on the season, a variety of vegetables grow on our farm. Our cultivation is guided not only by demand, but also by what grows well under the local conditions.
Herbs & Spices
Herbs are among the plants most closely connected to our kitchen. Freshly harvested, they can be used directly in our dishes or processed for seasoning and other products.
From Harvest to Homemade Products
Making the Most of What We Grow
Not everything we harvest is sold fresh or used directly in the restaurant.
We also process part of our produce ourselves, creating products such as jams, preserves and other specialities.
This also allows us to enjoy seasonal harvests for longer.
A ripe fruit can become a product that keeps the memory of our farm alive long after the actual harvest season has ended.
A Farm Doesn't Happen by Itself
Farm Delight grew from a desire to bring farming, food and a more conscious way of living together. What grows and is created on the farm today is the result of many decisions, experiences and, sometimes, a few unexpected turns along the way.
We are constantly learning. After all, farming means working with things that cannot be completely controlled: weather, seasons, soil and nature itself. That is exactly what makes it so fascinating to us.
